Pygeum

For pigeum been shown to have many health benefits to man and his prostate. Pigeum is primarily used to treat benign prostatic hypertrophy or BPH. Phytosterols are a pigeum inflammatory. Pigeum also reduces edema (swelling caused by excess fluid), reduced levels of the hormone prolactin, reduces cholesterol and inhibits activity in the prostate. Prolactin, whose levels are increased by drinking beer, taking testosterone stimulates prostate, increasing levels of metabolite responsible for increasing prostate cells, dihydrotestosterone (di-hydro-testosterone) (DHT). Cholesterol increases the effects of DHT.
